Designer Announcement Week :: Day 1

Whew!

The last month has kept me busy reviewing applications, sending e-mails, planning, and scheduling...and it's all been leading up to this week where I finally get to share the Ink Blot Shop designers for 2022! There were so many amazing designers that I had an incredibly difficult time narrowing it down - so difficult that now instead of one team, there will be a multi-faceted group of designers featuring: nine Design Team members, a Specialist Designer (for all things planner/bullet journaling), and seven New Release Designers. Because this is such a large combined group, I will be breaking up the introductions so that you can get to know 3-4 of these great designers each day this week.

Today I am excited to share with you three of the nine new Design Team members:

Emily Mydlowski
Annette Allen
&
Carol Weatherspoon

Each of these three Design Team members will be creating projects on a monthly basis, and will keep the inspiration coming to you here on the blog and over on the Ink Blot Shop Instagram account.

Let's get to know each of these designers a little bit:

Emily Mydlowski

How did you get started in your crafting journey? I’ve always loved all things crafty and still remember buying my first wood block stamp with money I saved up as a kiddo. I really started to get into paper-crafting when my daughter was born and I learned of pocket scrapbooking and from there I stumbled upon cardmaking and stamping. I find so much joy in the process of stamping and creating art on small paper canvases.
What time of day are you most likely to be found crafting? Little evening snippets during the work week and any chance I get on the weekends.
What are your favorite types of projects to create? Clean and Simple Cards with little hints of detail and bright and cheerful Pops of Color—especially rainbow! I also enjoy stretching my stamping supplies in fun unique ways.
Where can your crafting presence be found online? On Instagram @popsofpaper and on my blog: www.popsofpaper.com

Annette Allen

How did you get started in your crafting journey? I started creating in 1997 when my husband and I were stationed in Germany. I was invited to a Stampin-Up party and I have been hooked ever since.

What time of day are you most likely to be found crafting? I love crafting early when my husband is at work. I am a housewife so I like to say it is one of my chores for the day.

What are your favorite types of projects to create? I love creating cards but am a crafter at heart so anything you have to glue, sew or tie down I probably have done it.

    Carol Weatherspoon

How did you get started in your crafting journey? About 16 years ago, my BFF sent me a scrapbook and a bunch of supplies to scrap my wedding. I fell in love with it and then a few years after that, she sent me a handmade card and the rest is cardmaking history! Once I started making cards, I was HOOKED! I had to have all the things and try all the cool techniques (ie: heat embossing - LOL!). I absolutely love creating handmade cards and enjoy seeing the happiness it brings to others. Best hobby ever!

What time of day are you most likely to be found crafting? My preference is definitely early morning, but with a family and full-time job, I grab time whenever I can find it!

What are your favorite types of projects to create? I love making personalized note cards as well as cards and gifts for teachers.
