Dotted Happy Birthday Card

TGIF! Lately, I’ve been super into really simple cards… ones that are easy to put together and without much effort. This is definitely one of them, with endless possibilities.
Before I started, I actually went online and googled color combinations. I am terrible with picking colors that go well together so this is an easy way of picking colors I want to use for my cards, allowing me to step outside the box. For this card, I went with a mustard yellow, a light orange, and a light green. Once I picked out my colors, I pulled out the four different sizes of circles in the Basic Shapes stamp set. Then I got to stamping. I just alternated sizes and colors and stamped in an arch around the left side of the card panel.
For my sentiment, I pulled out the Solid Sayings for the “Happy Birthday”. Since I created an arch of the circle pattern, I didn’t want to stamp in my white space so I masked each half of the sentiment and stacked them.

I have a bad habit of hoarding my craft supplies, including paper scraps but they come in handy. I was able to find a piece that actually matched perfectly with my color combination. I trimmed my panel down so I could mat the left hand side of the panel and added a thin strip of black so I could pull in the black stamped sentiment, making the card cohesive.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’re inspired to create. Happy Crafting!
