Hello! Hello! Laurie with you today to share a fun card with a fun technique!
I love using solid stamps with ink and water. This is a super fun and easy technique. I used the large diamond shape from the Basic Shapes 4X8 stamp set along with Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide Ink.
Start by LIGHTLY inking your stamp. You don’t need much ink as the water will make it spread.
To add the water, I prefer to use a water brush. A spray bottle usually adds too much water and is hard to control. I just lightly dab the wet brush onto the ink and spread it around.
I stamped onto watercolour paper, creating a not-so-perfect background. Once dry, I took a white gel pen to add some simple details into each diamond.
I trimmed the background panel to approximately 3.5 X 5 inches and foam mounted it onto a white A2 card base. I didn’t want to cover too much of this background so I chose the small bird from the Fat Cats 4X6 stamp set along with a small sentiment from Little Notes 6X8 stamp set which perfectly fit into one of the speech bubbles from Tiny Bubbles 4X4 set!!
Those blue, watercolored diamonds make the perfect wallpaper, right?! Of course, I felt a little sparkle was needed so I add a few clear sequins!
I think this card turned out super cute and I hope you think so too!
Thanks so much for spending a little time here today! Until next time…
Laurie
