Hap-pea Birthday Card

Hello friends! I’m back to share a super fun and super cute birthday card with you. This card was made using a Christmas themed set along with an alphabet set.
This card combined a couple of my favourite things: using an alphabet set to create a custom sentiment and thinking outside the box a little by using a stamp set that’s not meant for birthdays!

The Peas on Earth set is one of the cutest stamp sets, ever!! Everyone loves a good pun and this set delivers! I stamped out 5 peas onto green cardstock and blended a darker shade of ink around the edges to add a bit of interest. Quick and easy way of colouring without actually colouring! I used one of the Santa hats from the set and by snipping off the ball at the top of the hat, it easily turns into a party hat! I did the same technique by stamping the hats onto coloured cardstock.

I glued the tiny hats to the peas and added a few details with my white gel pen. Next it was time for the sentiment!!
I stamped out “Hap-pea Birthday” using the Outline Alpha Set. I absolutely love creating my own sentiments with alpha sets! I fussy cut each letter out and added a wee bit of shading (you can’t really tell) using some Warm Grey Copics.

Before adhering everything to my card base, I created a smaller panel of white cardstock and added a bit of shading around the edges to make it stand out a bit more against the white card base. Everything, including the ink blended panel, was adhered with foam adhesive. Because this is a fairly clean and simple design, the dimension adds a lot!
I did add a bit of sparkle to the bottom of each letter for a bit of pizazz!

I hope you enjoyed todays project and got a wee bit of inspiration to have a look through your stash and think outside the box!

Thanks for dropping by! Have a great day!

Laurie
