Love You Card

Happy Friday crafty friends! My name is Jeannie and I'm so excited to be sharing my first post as a design team member for Ink Blot Shop. Today, I’m sharing a super simple card, which can be customized for any occasion.

I love background stamps for creating a subtle background or interest to a card, allowing you to focus on the main sentiment or image. For today’s card, I am using the String it Out background stamp, which is the perfect example of a background stamp to provide some subtle interest. I wanted a colorful background so I watercolored a card panel using a rainbow array of colors. Once that was dry, I used black ink to stamp out the String it Out background. I trimmed the card panel to 4.25” x 5.25” and matted it on white cardstock.

The sentiment is the focus for this card and I wanted something bold. The Solid Sayings stamp set has so many options and they are all in a simple, bold font that you could pair with just about any card. Using the “Love You” sentiment, I stamped it using watermark ink on black cardstock and used white embossing powder.

Looks a little bit plain right? I think so too! There are little hearts in the Solid Sayings stamp set and they were perfect to place around the sentiment. I stamped them in watermark ink paired with white embossing powder and heat set it. Isn’t it such a sweet addition?
I hope you’re inspired to create and pull out those background stamps to add some interest to your cards!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

Your card may be simple but the design is quite eye catching!
