Love You Father's Day Critter Card

Hello friends! Welcome back to the blog! It’s Laurie with you today to share my Father’s Day card for this year! Normally, I’m a last minute maker but I had an idea and just had to put it into action!
My new favourite stamp is the new Stripes & Stars Background Stamp. I can’t seem to stop using it! It is one of those stamps that can be used in any way and on any project. My idea was to create an ink blended night sky over some silver heat embossing. I stamped the background stamp using Veramark ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.

I used Distress Inks for the blending in the colours: Antique Linen, Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. I did trim the panel to 5 X 3.5 inches.
Next, I chose one of the cute images from the Flopsy Forest Friends Stamp Set…another of my favourites! Even though I’m a grown woman, I am the youngest and I think I’ll always be my dads “little” girl. So, these images are perfect for this card.

I used Copic markers to colour everything then fussy cut everything out. I used foam tape to adhere everything to the ink blended panel then added the panel to a top fold, A2 card base.

For the little speech bubble and sentiment, I used the Tiny Bubbles stamp set. I also added a small heart from the Flopsy Forest Friends Set.
I really had fun making this card. My Dad is not a very “mushy” guy but I know he loves getting my handmade cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by. See you soon!

Laurie
