Mini Slimline Wave Cards

Hey, hey...it's Friday! It's Tifany here and I wanted to share with you two mini slimline cards I created using the Clouds & Waves Stencil and Spaced Out Greetings Stamp Set. Both of these cards use the inside cut outs on the stencil. I'll leave those shaped stencil edges for another time.

For my first card, I did a bunch of ink blending in a rainbow of colors all over a piece of white cardstock. I randomly placed each wave one color at a time, just filling in the blank areas as I went. As I switched ink colors, I wiped off my stencil and then moved on to the next color and wave size. I worked on a larger piece of cardstock and then trimmed it down to the mini slimline size I wanted to use for my finished card. Because the wave cut outs are small, this process went really quickly, even though I was working with multiple ink colors.

For my next card, I stuck to a more traditional aqua/blue color scheme for the waves...and this time I left plenty of room in between the waves to be able to go back in and add some fun "splash" details

Once I had done all of my ink blending, I thought it would be fun to add a few details with a white pen. This is a great way to really make stencil designs pop! On the multi-color waves, I added line highlights, and on the aqua/blue splash waves, I added a few simple dots.

To finish off my cards, I created some sentiment strips from the Spaced Out Greetings Stamp Set and then trimmed one edge at an angle to give it a bit of added interest. These sentiments were designed to work with the Checkerboard Background Stamp and the Pixel Grid Stencil, but they work so well on their own, too! Each sentiment was then popped up on the card front and then everything was mounted to a coordinating piece of colored cardstock to make the stenciled design really shine.

These cards were quick and easy to create and the mini slimline size is such a fun one to create!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy crafting!
