Miss You Card

Hello friends and welcome! It’s Laurie with you today to share a cute, little Polaroid inspired card.

It’s no secret that one of my favourite stamp sets from the latest release is Little Sweeties! The little girl images in this set are the cutest! I decided to create a little scene with one of the little sweeties along with a few images from the Landscape Borders Stamp Set.

For the little girl, I decided to paper piece her little dress. Paper piecing is one the those techniques I always forget about! I’m not sure why because it’s so much fun! When it comes to the background, I have a little tip. This image is quite large. I love using alcohol markers to colour but when it comes to large, open spaces, I prefer to ink blend. I just hate the thought of using so much marker ink to create shading that can be done so quickly with an ink pad and
blending tool.

After everything was coloured, cut and pasted, I laid out my scene onto a white piece of cardstock. This photo frame die I’ve had in my stash for ages. I adhered it onto the scene in the exact spot I wanted it and trimmed off the excess.

I stamped the sentiment, which comes from the Flair Greetings Stamp Set, directly onto the frame. I decided that it needed some hearts which also come from the same set. The hearts were also ink blended.

I love to add small details to my cards. In this case, I added some white gel pen highlights, Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the hearts and 3 tiny, white pearls to create a necklace for this sweetie!

Thanks so much for spending a wee bit of time with me today! Wishing you a great day!

Laurie
