Miss You Mailbox Card

Hi, Ink Blot Shop fans! Samantha here with a new card to share with you along with the funny story that inspired it. For today's card I used the following stamp sets: Sending Love, Get Grounded, and Sweet & Simple Phrases.
A few weeks ago I noticed that the door to my mailbox was missing. I spotted it in the snow (oh, the joys of Midwestern living) and stuck it back onto the mailbox as best I could (which wasn't very well!).

Every single day my mail carrier would deliver my mail and every single day I'd have to find the door to my mailbox.

I recently fixed it which is probably why the open mailbox image from the Sending Love set made me smile so much.

To begin I cut a piece of white cardstock down using a basic stitched rectangle die to create a card front.

I stamped the autumn background from Get Grounded on my card front as well as a few randomly placed leaves. After coloring the leaves and grass I got to work on my mailbox.
I stamped and fussy cut the mailbox image from the Sending Love set, opting to make it a pretty teal instead of the now dingy white of my own.

I adhered my mailbox and masked part of the loop de loop I stamped near its opening.

I added my card front to a gray A2 sized note card.

I used a marker to create a piece of gray cardstock to match my mailbox post. I stamped and clear heat embossed the 'miss you' sentiment from the Sweet & Simple Phrases set. I used a basic label die to create a simple banner which I adhered along the lower portion of my card front.

I stamped the three little hearts from the Sending Love set and colored two of them gray and one teal. I fussy cut them out, popped them up on itsy bitsy pieces of foam tape, and added them near the other the of the loop de loop.
I'm so pleased with how this card came out and I hope it'll inspire you to create something awesome. Have a beautiful day.

Until next time,

Samantha Ziegenfuss
