Mixed-Media Inspired Clean and Simple Celebration Card

Hi Craft Friends! Emily Mydlowski here with you today sharing a Mixed-Media Inspired Clean and Simple Design using the Stripes & Stars Background Stamp.
I stamped the background with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and then heat embossed the image with Clear Embossing powder for extra dimension and shine. Using a rainbow collection of inks in Pinks, Red, Yellow, Green & Teals and blending brushes I added layers of color over the embossed Stars & Stripes Background.
I could have used the background as is but I wasn’t 100% in love with the final result and my clean and simple eye was gasping for more white space. SO—I decided to cut up the background panel into irregular sized paper cuts/strips using a paper trimmer. I adhered the irregular paper strips to the bottom white cardstock panel with a bit of white space in between. To add extra interest to the design, I made sure the background strips stripes did not “line-up” and I staggered the rainbow color pattern with a different color from right to left.
With VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink, I stamped the “Let’s Celebrate” sentiment from the Good Times Sentiments Stamp Set just above the first rainbow Stripes & Stars Paper Strip. To finish the card, I added a mix and match of Heart and Star die cuts that I had in my stash—I also think this type of design would look great with chipboard or puffy sticker shapes.
So there we are friends a fun way to stretch your background stamps to create a clean and simple mixed-media celebration card. Thanks for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!
