Texture Made Simple

Even on clean and simple cards, a little texture makes any card truly interactive, so we have some simple ideas for you using things you probably already have.

Hit up that first aid kit for one of our favorite textures - gauze. It's perfect for fall, Halloween and nautical cards, and because it's white, you can add a little ink as she did here for a distressed look that matches your project. The colors on the creative Basic Shapes and Fruit Salad images are so sweet. The background was made with the Pixel Grid stencil, and the sentiment on the tag is from Solid Sayings.
Glitter paper makes everything better! But it's not just the sparkle - it's a fun texture to touch on a card, like this fall beauty with Botanical Borders and Sentiment Label Blocks.
The twine on this card is both practical and a nice soft texture - this tag is a removable gift for the recipient - made with Crafty Hearts for the background, School Supplies for the foreground, and sentiments from Teacher Greetings.

Lay flat shakers are such a fun texture - your design and the sequins are safe under the clear cover, but you get dimension and movement at the same time. This card features Count 31 Botanicals (image & sentiments).
