Hi, there! It's Jennie and I'm back and I definitely want to talk to you more about stamping in your planner. A lot of folks don't really understand decorative planning and I'm hoping I can explain how and I why I do it in a way that makes sense.
I need to write things down, that is why I'm most successful in a paper planner. Plus, I love the feel of the paper and the way a beautiful pen glides across the paper. [Speaking of pens, have you tried the Let's Get Crafty Pen :: Pentel EnerGel-X Pen 07?! These are fun and write like the ink is unicorn tears!]
One of the things that keeps me really motivated each week is having beautiful decor that really speaks to me. I especially love stamping in my planner because it combines the fun of stamping with the function I need. The Skyline Borders is the perfect stamp set for my planner!
On a week that I don't have a lot of plans, I can add two different borders to my pages as I did this week. The bottom waves is where I start. Adding fun colors really makes this border stamp stand out and I want to return to the page over and over during the week, therefore keeping myself on track.
If I had a lot going on during a week, I would simply only use the waves. Because this week was a little lighter, I could add the clouds, as well.
I'm not an expert at inking, coloring or shading. Not at all! But, that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the process in my planner! I simply blended out some Distress Oxide Ink within the clouds to mimic the light and fluffy nature of clouds.
For the waves, I simply pulled out my Tombow Dual Brush Markers and colored in the waves with several different colors, doing a little layering in a couple of spots. Nothing remotely expert. Simply having fun coloring and not overthinking it. This allows me to enjoy the process but also get it done quickly.
I add in my meal planning [in the sidebar], lists, and plans throughout the week to stay on track. When you have the cutest stamps like the Skyline Borders stamp set, it's easy to plan AND decorate. You're not going crazy adding tons of decor or spending your whole budget on stickers, you're using stamps that are so cute that you can use again and again!
