Hello everyone!! Laurie with you today to share a super fun card made with the super cute stamp set called Fruit Salad!!
I’ve actually had this set in my stash for quite some time and have never used it!! Well, today was the day! You may remember a couple of cards back that I substituted a critter for one of the letters in my sentiment…today’s card features the same because I love the look!
I got out a selection of green Distress Oxide Inks: Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss. Instead of inking the stamp directly, I used a sponge dauber to apply the ink. This gives a very seamless blend. A stamp positioning tool is a must for this technique!
As you can see, I used the same ink colours for the sentiment and used the same technique. The sentiment comes from the Chunky Sentiments Stamp Set. I decided to fussy cut each letter because I knew I wanted to pop this up!
I think that pear makes the cutest “O”, don’t you?! The Fruit Salad set is full of accessories to add to your fruit of choice. There’s arms, legs, a ton of tiny faces and even some floral elements.
I created a small panel and added a bit of light stenciling using the Pixel Grid Stencil and Tumbled Glass Oxide Ink. This broke up all that white space in a subtle way.
After adhering all my letters and pear with foam adhesive, I thought it needed a bit more. I stamped out a few stars in the same blue ink (the stars are also from the Chunky Sentiments Set) and cut those out as well. There’s quite a bit of green happening on this card, so I thought the pop of blue went nicely!
And to finish off, I whipped out the white gel pen to add some accents to everything!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you found a little inspiration here today!
See you soon!!
Laurie
